Pre-Forum Conferences

-
Experience community around the Word as we take a deep dive into selected passages from the life of Elijah.  We will be using manuscript Bible study, a highly interactive inductive method, which emphasises discovery and active learning.  This immersive focus on one of Israel’s greatest prophets will stimulate both spirit and mind as we meet God together through the Scriptures.  (Limit: 15 participants)
We all experience times of spiritual dryness, periods where resources are low, vitality is gone, and the voice of God seems distant. Our natural inclination is to long for a break, but sometimes what we really need is a breakthrough. Hidden areas of unrecognized idolatry can sap our spiritual strength like buried infection in a body. Finding and removing these idols can result in surprising release and blessing. In this conference, we will look… Read more
What is 'science' anyway? How does 'science' relate to people's beliefs about God? Discover the theological basis for modern science and learn how a series of scientific discoveries in cosmology and biology since the 1950s have provided grounds for belief in a Divine Creator.

Pre-Forum Seminar

All leaders fall into ministry ruts and fail to see blind spots that may be obvious to others.  In this seminar, we will learn very practical, powerful and biblical lessons that can change the course of your life and ministry. This session will help you identify best leadership practices and ways to incorporate them.
This Pre-Forum Seminar will practise the art of ‘double-listening’ as we relate the Bible to the world around us. We will examine the strange new world of gender fluidity, gender self-identification and gender transition from a cultural and medical perspective, attend to the experience of gender-diverse individuals and ‘de-transitioners’, and explore a biblical perspective on gender, sex, identity and our physical bodies. This will provide the… Read more
This Pre-forum seminar addresses the following 7 topics: 1.     What Does It Really Mean to Be Worldly? This session begins by dismantling the trivial versions of what it means to be worldly.  The church becomes truly worldly when they forget who they are because they forget who Christ is.  This makes us lose our distinctive character so we blend in and become enculturated. 2.      What in the World is the World?  We become worldly through the… Read more
Ministry and leadership can be a lonely task, but we need not face this alone. One of the sad realities of mission and church leadership in Europe is just how many good godly men and women find themselves isolated and alone, devoid of meaningful peer ministry relationships and community. Too often this leads to disillusionment and burnout. It is abundantly clear that this is not God's intention, and neither is it necessary. The Biblical… Read more
There are 7 common ideas in secular culture that represent barriers for people to know Jesus today. This session will unpack how we can communicate the gospel to people who believe these ideas as well as see how the gospel transforms our own perspectives on life, identity, relationships, community and God.
Does the New Testament present a clear theology of church planting? Should we categorize church planting under missiology or ecclesiology? Is church planting something that only concerns those who have a special gifting and place in their hearts for it, or should it be on the heart of pastors of established churches? Is there any practical insight in the New Testament into how to plant churches? In this seminar, we will consider these critical… Read more

Post-Forum Seminar

Many Christians rightly recognise faithful preaching and evangelism as priorities for contemporary Europe. But people, including Christians, increasingly talk about and struggle with their emotional and mental wellbeing. Help is offered by counsellors and therapists and promised through ideas like resilience and mindfulness. Does the church have anything distinct to offer these people? How can we develop pastoral care in our churches that meets… Read more
Cultural shift throughout Europe has led to Judeo-Christian values being jettisoned and a secular humanist worldview and values increasingly imposed. The toxic cocktail of scientific materialism, consumerism, moral relativism and radical autonomy has opened the lid of a Pandora’s box of new biotechnologies including artificial reproduction, pre-implantation diagnosis, embryonic stem cell research, DNA editing, three-parent embryos, and animal-… Read more
