What is your ministry?

I am a full-time missionary at a church for homeless people. My service there includes translating sermons and small talk (since many foreigners are serving in the church), leading community programs, and hopefully in the future, Bible study groups. I also visit our homeless church members if they get into a hospital or a rehabilitation center; I would like to build personal relationships with these people. I also want to build connections with local churches and ministries to make our little church more a part of the big Body of Christ. I will also be in charge of our website.

When did you trust Christ?

I was born to a family of true believers. I first prayed the sinner's prayer at age 5, but I'm still learning what the Gospel really means. I cannot specify a time when I "got saved." God has been very significant in my life for as long as I can remember, but I grew gradually in the knowledge of Him in my "Church of origin."

What have been the defining moments of your Christian walk?

At 19, I started listening to a small church's sermons that talked a LOT about the undeserved grace of God. That helped me realise I don't have to (and can't) live up to God's standards to be loved by Him on a level beyond understanding.

What do you hope to gain from participating?

I hope seeing and listening to so many serving people around Europe will encourage me to stay active in building the kingdom of God. I hope to meet people who also serve the homeless/poor specifically and hear their experiences and advice. I want to learn how I can help our church members (they are mainly believers, but many are not very mature in their faith) grow in their walk with Jesus and in serving the community.

What is your leadership role or what were your past leadership roles?

I was a leader in our youth group for six years. My tasks included leading small group discussions, worship leading, administration, and sometimes leading the whole meeting. I also teach a weekly Bible study group in the homeless shelter I worked in with one of my colleagues.

Why should someone invest in your ministry?

In Hungary, many homeless people believe in God but have distorted ideas about the Gospel. Our church longs to help these people meet Jesus as the One who gives meaning to everyone's life. By growing in faith, through the healing power of the Holy Spirit, they will gain back their shattered sense of self-worth and hope, which can also mean being saved from addictions and mental health issues. They will be able to become serving members of the Body of Christ and lead other suffering people to Jesus.
