Vitold Nemes
I am a university pastor of the University Chaplaincy of Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church in Hungary. I am organising students' community programs and leading religious events. I also teach elective subjects and provide pastoral care among students.
I heard a boy younger than me testify of Jesus Christ at a youth camp. I was very touched. He quoted the scripture: "We love because He loved us first." I felt that Jesus loved me and was calling me, too. Then, I went back to my church and sought God more, and the following summer, I heard the call to serve the Lord Jesus Christ.
A youth leader in the church has had a significant influence on the growth of my faith. He talked about living relationships with God and the importance of prayer. Today, when I can lead young people in prayer, I genuinely convey my understanding of following Jesus Christ.
In the Forum, I would like to meet leaders in youth work, gain experience and new ideas, and return home to help spread the gospel at the university.
I have been leading youth groups for ten years. I organised a mission for marginalised people in a village in Hungary. Together with youth organisations, I organise and lead summer camps. As a university pastor, I organise students' community programs and lead religious events.
During their time at the university, teachers and students can grow in academic knowledge and faith. I think it is worth investing in this ministry because there is excellent immersion in building the kingdom of God in this institution.
