I am an assistant pastor. I occasionally preach at the church. I primarily teach and disciple in small groups one-on-one. In addition, I lead the children’s and puppet ministries. I am part of the leadership team in two churches and a church plant. I also do the finances and paperwork for our church, am part of our media ministry, and share short messages on our Facebook page.
I was 16 years old and had heard a lot about Jesus. I tried to put Him in my life, but it did not work. When things fell apart, I lost many things that defined me; then, I started thinking about giving my life 100 percent to Jesus. It happened at a Christian conference.
One defining moment was at a youth meeting, where we shared our plans for the next year. I was very concerned about preparing for art school. All my plans were good, but the youth leader asked me where Jesus fit in my plans. That was the turning point. I want Him in my plans, and the best way is to pursue serving Him. Later, I had a mentor who helped me make significant steps in faith.
During the Forum, I made great connections with people, and thus, my way of ministering to people grew to a deeper level. Understanding the differences in roles helped me identify where I am and my fellow ministers and eased my functioning together.
I was a teenage group and ministry leader.
My pastor invited me to ELF because my growth is good for the church and the leadership team. Growing as a leader will help those that disciple and teach.
