Traian Todut
Traian Todut is the founder of an organisation dedicated to Christian apologetics.
By God’s grace, I grew up in a Christian home. I have always known Christ as my Lord and savior so it is difficult to point to a moment when I turned my life to Him. One important day to mention is the 6th of February 2005, when the Lord truly spoke to my heart in a way I had never experienced.
Every day of my Christian life offers new situations and stretching experiences that push me to grow in my faith. I have also been strongly impacted by the sermons and seminars of several pastors, as well as through several books I have read by Henry Morris. Another important event for me was my admission into college. I had struggled with trusting God with His plan for my life, and seeing this answer to prayer was another demonstration to me of God’s faithfulness.
The Forum is an excellent opportunity to grow by learning from the experience and wisdom of other leaders and Christians with whom I interact. I am also very interested in the interdisciplinary dialogue between faith and science and how the two can be integrated. I want to continue equipping myself and network with other Forum participants involved in the sciences. Since I started attending, I have participated in The Romanian Forum (Rolf) as an attendee of the politics network. I have also been involved in organising several Christian art-related events which had around 100 attendees both in my city Cluj-Napoca and other Romanian cities.
I am involved in a small ministry that deals with apologetics, mainly science-based apologetics. I am also interested in public policy, the environment, bioethics, and gender issues. I want to learn how to integrate my public servant job with my Christian mission. Recently, I began being more involved in an artists' organisation from Cluj-Napoca, called AtelierPlus; I am responsible for their social media and helping them organise different events. I am also interested in the role of Christians in politics and society, as my job is within a governmental organisation in the field of environmental protection.
One of the main problems in our evangelical community is a lack of interest in integrating science and faith. This problem stems from the lack of cooperation between the church and Christians involved in science. Therefore, I aim to establish a work group by bringing together qualified scientists who desire to impact society. It is helpful to be at ELF to be equipped for what I do and get exposed to the amazing number of resources; also, the sense of unity is real!
