As a staff member with the Faroese IFES movement (part-time), I work with apologetic resources and arrange apologetics events (both online and on-site). I am studying in Denmark, and my job is also connected to the church I attend, where I teach discipleship.
I was raised in a Christian home where we regularly attended our local church. I gave my life to Christ at a camp when I was around 12 years old.
Most of the defining moments of my Christian walk are connected to my local church and Christian camps. In 2015, at a camp in Germany called Teen Street, I committed my life to serving God wholeheartedly. Another big part of my development in Christ has been a discipleship school, which the Faroese IFES movement has arranged since 2016. I was a part of it in 2017-22. It has opened my eyes concerning discipleship, and I've developed a closer relationship with Christ.
Last year, I went to ELF to gain knowledge regarding apologetics. Not only did I receive great lessons on apologetics, but also lots of different books and resources. This has made me better at arranging events. I want to return to ELF to gain more knowledge and wisdom to develop my local ministry.
I was a youth leader in my local church for five years until I moved to Denmark. I have had a leadership role at a campus with the movement for three years. Also, I have for 3-4 years led the Faroese IFES' apologetics ministry. I now lead a team of small group leaders in my local church in Copenhagen.
I believe the Faroe Islands are growing more and more secular. We (IFES) want to equip the next generation of Christians with the courage to share the Gospel, knowledge, and wisdom to stand firm when objections and criticism come their way. We want them to have a solid, evidence-based Christian foundation to share the Gospel passionately and to grow in their relationship with Christ.
