Tomáš Csémi is an evangelist in Slovakia, boldly sharing the Gospel.
When did you trust Christ?
I grew up in a nominal Christian family. Neither of my parents were Christian, nor is anyone I know from my family. I didn’t truly hear about God until I went to a camp where people boldly talked about God. From the moment I arrived, people really cared about me; I felt loved and I kept coming back. Two years later, during evening worship back at camp, God entered my life, my whole body, my inner being, my secret heart, and I became His. The veil was torn, broken, it was shattered to pieces like glass between Him and me. In this moment, my heart felt love, the love of Jesus. I was constantly saying, 'God loves me, He loves me.' My Father, God brought me home, and that’s why I am alive!
What have been the defining moments of your Christian walk?
I pursue growth by spending every morning with God in prayer and listening to His voice. God has been teaching me to trust Him even in the midst of obstacles. When circumstances come, I don’t run away, but I listen to God telling me that He is with me and speaking into my situations with His Word. Furthermore, He has been teaching me that I can rely on the church and that I don’t have to be alone in anything. My mentor, and spiritual father, played a big role in my growth as a disciple of Jesus by praying and reading with me. This continues to help as becoming a missionary is a big challenge. However, it has really made me grow in my relationship with God and in my faith.
What do you hope to gain from participating?
I want to maximise my impact as a follower of Christ and a servant leader reaching the Global Youth Generation, so ELF is the best place to go. The Forum is the perfect place to meet like-minded and passionate people about the Gospel. It offers perspective and training that I need for my ministry. I would like to connect with Christians who are familiar with business and theology to get insight into what next steps I might take in regards to my education.
What is your ministry?
Young people today are more similar than ever, making them a truly Global generation. Through Steiger, I reach the Global Youth Culture—people who would never walk into a church. We reach those who are cynical, apathetic, or even hostile to the Gospel. I go beyond the four walls of the church to make Jesus known—in clubs, at festivals, in universities, and on the streets.
What is your leadership role or what were your past leadership roles?
Prior to Steiger, I was involved in a ministry called INSIDE. There, I was responsible for leading discussion groups and leading worship. I went to different tours when I lead worship and did some preaching. I have seen the importance of praying and fasting. I have seen lives changed and people leading other people to Jesus. It was really a place where Jesus has taught me many things at the beginning of my faith, and I am thankful for that.
Why should someone invest in your ministry?
I am a very ambitious follower of Christ with many gifts and a strong character. I am a fast learner and pursue excellence in every area of my life by setting high standards and reaching them. My passions are servant leadership, business, and theology, and how I seek to combine them with a tireless pursuit of God to change the world for Christ.
