Timotej Prohaska
I'm a youth leader. As a church in Pakrac, we have a good connection with three other churches in our area, and my ministry and role include being a leader for young people from those churches. So, I organise youth meetings every Saturday where I often preach, or we have Bible study. Also, we have youth prayer time every Friday, during which we pray for each other. I organise a youth conference once a year. In my church in Pakrac, I'm in ministry as a deacon and worship leader.
My decision to follow Jesus was 15 years ago. I grew up in a faithful family and attended church 2-3 times a week, but I didn't have a relationship with God until later. During a difficult friendship, the Lord brought me the song "What a Friend We Have in Jesus. "I cried a lot and thinking about the words of that song. At that time, I also read John 15:15: "I have called you friends because I have told you everything I have heard from my Father." I realised that Jesus is my best friend who will never disappoint me. I talked to my pastor, and he prayed for me. I gave my life to Christ, and shortly after that, I got baptised.
One defining moment was the time I spent with my pastor, a youth leader. He impacted my faith because I saw how he lived and was an excellent example. He lived what he preached. I said to myself that I wanted to serve Christ as he did. As a husband, I can say that many marital situations have caused me to grow. Before I had a wife, I thought I could love everyone unconditionally. But it's different when you live with others 24 hours a day. As a father of 3, I need to practice patience with my kids, especially when they are doing things that are not good. I often asked myself How much patience God (as a father) has for me? It's incredible! Until I was a father, I didn't think about that. Serving as a youth leader, worship leader, and deacon is challenging for me, and through this, I'm always learning to give myself and not receive anything back.
I expect to be more efficient in my ministry as a youth leader. I wish to hear and learn from the experiences of other people. I want to learn to teach better and maximise my time with youth.
My past roles have involved youth ministry.
I'm a hard-working person, and I give the best in my ministry. I'm ready to listen and be taught.
