Tamari Otarashvili is the Program Coordinator for IFES in Georgia.

When did you trust Christ?

I was born into a Christian family, but I committed to following Jesus and being baptised when I was 17. I attended a church, and God touched my heart; I realised I needed to be baptised and serve God.

What have been the defining moments of your Christian walk?

The defining moment of my Christian walk was when I was a student. I was having a hard time. I was lost, felt meaningless, and couldn't see my future. But thanks to God, I discovered the IFES student group, where I found Christian friendship, love, and peace. I started studying the Bible and got to know more about Jesus. I was so impacted that I became a staff member of IFES in Georgia, and now I have helped others grow for several years already.

What do you hope to gain from participating?

I think this Forum will help me get to know Christian leaders all over Europe, get inspiration and encouragement in my ministry, and share experiences about different ministries and leadership. It's a great opportunity to grow spiritually and intellectually and to meet new people. It is a place where I can learn, connect with people, and rest at the same time.

What is your ministry?

Now, I am a staff worker at the IFES student ministry in Georgia. Our goal is to evangelise students and disciple them. We help them grow in Christian leadership and disciple others. In my role, I lead and organise different student events, such as Bible study groups, evangelistic events, seminars, conferences, and camps. I also mentor the students and help them grow in their faith.

What is your leadership role or what were your past leadership roles?

I have been the leader of the student group for several years. I also have experience in leadership at different camps and conferences.

Why should someone invest in your ministry?

I am investing in future leaders. I try to help young people find themselves in Christ, find their ministry, and grow. They may be future doctors, teachers, ministers, or whatever, but they are also faithful Christians. I am serving the ministry whose goal is to spread the Gospel among students, invest in them, and help them to grow as Christian leaders. Students are very confused, lost, tired, and stressed. They need support, encouragement, and the right direction at this time.
