Sladjan Milenkovic
Sladjan Milenkovic is the President of the HUB Belgrade Bible School in Serbia.
I was born into a nominal Orthodox family, but ever since I was a young boy, I searched for God. Many things were happening in my life, and I was desperately trying to find Him. When I was 18, one of my colleagues gave me a small New Testament, and I read it. God spoke to me so powerfully through His Word, and He started changing my life while I was reading. I gave up my sinful way of life, and I gave my life to Jesus before I met any believers or a church group. Later, I joined a Baptist church where I was baptised in 2000.
I have met some very good people who have encouraged me to grow in my faith. I have read many books by Christian writers, which have also helped me grow. I also attended a Bible school, which taught me a lot about Scripture.
The European Leadership Forum has allowed me to make contacts among good speakers and teachers that we will invite to our Bible school in Serbia to teach. I have personally been very encouraged and refreshed by my time there. I am always giving to others on the field, but every human being is weak and sometimes struggles. We need to be filled up, and the Forum is that place for me. I can fellowship with old friends and make new ones. It is a place to get a fresh perspective, to worship corporately, and to be encouraged by others.
I currently lead the HUB ministry, a Christian conference and venue centre. I also lead the Camp Hope ministry, an organisation that supports families who have children with disabilities and malignant diseases. Throughout the year, we organise and lead many camps to serve these families. I am also the Director of Joni's House Serbia, where we are currently building the first community centre in Serbia. This centre will provide practical help for people with disabilities and will also include a church, coffee shops, and more. Lastly, I preach and teach across our region, as well as guest speak for other churches abroad.
In addition to my ministry at the Bible school, I also preach and lead different seminars and meetings. I have also been involved with church planting in our town.
Three hundred people have graduated from our school in the past 15 years. Many of them have become involved in church ministries, church planting, and leading Christian organisations. We have an excellent training program for mission workers, and we have great facilities for nearly 50 teachers who regularly come from all around the world--our students come from all over the former Yugoslavian countries and different evangelical denominations. The ministry has significantly impacted God's work in our region. Investing in me would mean investing in the HUB Belgrade Bible School in Serbia and all the students and teachers there.
