Every Sunday, there is a youth group for 16+ adults. We study how to read the Scriptures and share a small word. There is also DBS (Discipleship Bible Study) for teen girls and boys once a week.
I was born in a Christian family. From childhood, I knew about Jesus; my parents were telling me stories from the Bible, and I also attended Sunday school. But I only started to follow Jesus at the age of 18, when I nearly experienced death. At that moment, I realised that God had saved my life and given me a second chance to use my time wisely. And I realised that he saved me not only physically but spiritually when he died on the cross. At that moment, I decided to serve him all my life.
Last year, I spent the most remarkable moment of my Christian walk on the ship LogosHope. I met Jesus' followers from more than 65 nationalities. That's where I saw how God is working among different nations. It gave me a bigger picture of God's vision for the countries. I met faithful Christians who wanted to serve the Lord wholeheartedly. Their attitude encouraged me to grow in my spiritual life.
It's essential to know how to work with young people. For me, the knowledge shared during this conference will benefit the ministry as we will have more experience in sharing the word of God with youth so that they will be more committed to studying the scriptures and finally giving their life to Jesus.
Being a youth leader is my first leadership role.
Our primary focus is young people, who are the future of our churches and our country. It's essential to invest in them to have healthy families and communities. On the other hand, our country, Georgia, has a strategically good location. It's a Christian country surrounded by Muslim countries. Georgian people have an excellent opportunity to be good witnesses of Jesus Christ for these nations. As it is an Orthodox country and most of the population says that they are Christians, they don't have a personal relationship with Jesus. There is much work to do.
