I was raised in a Baptist family and attended church. At the age of 17, I felt the Holy Spirit, and that was the turning point. At age 21, I was baptised and publicly confirmed my faith.
When I was younger, I became one of the leaders of a student group. We grew in faith, organised meetings and conferences, preached to other students, and discussed the Bible. At this time, I was dating a non-Christian girl. She asked me a lot of questions about my faith, and these questions encouraged me to research and reconsider my beliefs. I didn't stay together with this girl, but this experience made me grow closer to God than ever before.
The Forum broadens an individual's perspective when it comes to facing various problems in the church. It keeps changing the way I look at church expansion. The networks help me build more of a relationship with people, and I can see what works for them and what doesn't, which is very practical. I want to grow as a leader: our church puts effort into social media, so there are many occasions to share the Gospel and high organisational needs.
Firstly, I consider myself an entrepreneur. It's not directly linked to a church, but with anything I do in business, I pray to God that I can serve Him with my talents in the best way possible. I think of this as my number one ministry. Secondly, I'm involved in our church's 'host team', meaning I am responsible for making our church welcoming to newcomers. This includes small tasks, such as preparing banners and welcome packs, putting out the chairs, and talking to people who come to the church for the first time. Thirdly, I'm a part of the production group for my church, ensuring everything goes smoothly.
In my student years, I was one of the leaders of our church's student group. In our weekly meetings, we sometimes had more than 60 participants, and my primary responsibility was to take care of the organisational aspect. On occasion, I preached and led the meetings. Apart from the regular meetings, we also organised events because we valued fellowship.
Others should invest in my ministry because people want the Word of God to spread as much as possible. I would be grateful if they could share experiences I currently don't have.
