After a few years of Bible class in primary school, I went to my church's summer camp for the first time. During the camp, I became close with members of the youth group and we chatted every night. I was amazed to see their love for God and for each other, and to hear their testimonies really got to my heart. I had heard of salvation and the meaning of the cross, but I never really understood it. But then one evening after worship the preacher spoke of Calvary and Jesus’s love. For the first time I understood God’s great love for me. I decided to follow and trust Him.
My parents divorced shortly after my conversion. That event made me depend on the only sure thing in my life: Jesus. After starting my university studies, I discovered more of the freedom I have in Christ. I got to know more believers from different walks of life. While writing my first research paper, I was faced with questions about my trust in God and His plan for me; after a long struggle, I found a deeper and more mature faith in Jesus.
I am friends with many Catholics, and we have frequent talks on Scripture, belief, or church. A significant percentage of the expected audience of my YouTube ministry on Scripture will also be Catholic. I hope that a YRM will help me communicate the Gospel and the importance of Scripture more effectively and will help me better understand my friends and have more profitable conversations.
Currently, I'm working on my PhD dissertation in biblical theology, focusing on Old and New Testament relationships. As part of this, I write articles and teach classes at my university. Frequently, I lead small group discussions in faith-related youth summer camps and co-lead a Bible study group in my church. I am passionate about teaching about the relevance of the Scripture to non-theologian church members and non-believers.
For the last five to eight years, I have led small groups at various conferences and camps. I have led a youth group for two years. I spent the last year in a church working as an assistant pastor.
ELF is always a week that I cherish - it truly helps me look at myself and assess my priorities and ministry. In addition, I love meeting brothers and sisters and talking with them, sharing ideas, pray together, and the Forum provides a unique opportunity for this.
