Petr Uhrik
I am the lead pastor at the local church, which operates in three locations and maintains weekly
contact with 400 to 500 individuals in Vsetin, Czech Republic. Our primary objective is to plant new churches in our region. Over 17 years, our church has successfully planted or adopted 12 churches, with 11 forming a robust long-term partnership known as the Majak Network.
In the previous year, we facilitated the integration of hundreds of Ukrainian refugees and established a Ukrainian church in our town. Since the onset of the war in Ukraine, we have aided over 3000 refugees, and currently, approximately 200 of them actively participate in our church. We have forged robust partnerships with other non profit organizations in our town and collaborate on social and humanitarian assistance programs for refugees.
One of our core focuses is also working with children and young people. We concentrate on organizing weekly clubs, frisbee ultimate club, and summer camps. We regularly engage with over 100 children and young individuals (over half come from non-Christian families).
I decided to follow Jesus when I was a child of 10. Jesus touched my heart during a sermon one Sunday. I shared my experience with my parents. They led me to the Lord in prayer. Since that moment, I have belonged to Jesus.
I am part of a Year-Round Mentoring group, where I am developing new skills and strengthening the skills I already possess. The webinars and face-to-face meetings inspire me and bring fresh impulses to my ministry. I also hope to inspire others through this process. Finally, I greatly value relationships and anticipate building new connections through this experience.
I expect that during the Year-Round Mentoring period, I will develop new skills and strengthen the skills I already possess. I hope webinars and face-to-face meetings will inspire me and bring fresh impulses to my ministry. I also hope to inspire others through this process. Moreover, I expect the Year-Round Mentoring program to provide me with new insights through reading, preparation, webinars, and face-to-face meetings for strategic thinking about my church. I also hope that YRM will allocate dedicated time for this strategic thinking. Finally, I greatly value relationships and anticipate building new connections through this experience.
I am the lead pastor at the local church, which operates in three locations. Additionally, I hold a position within the higher leadership structure of the Majak network. My primary responsibilities include empowering, encouraging, and training teams of leaders within our locations and missional communities. An essential aspect of my role involves recruiting new leaders, fundraising efforts, strategic decision-making, and effectively communicating our vision. I also regularly engage in preaching and teaching in our church.
I maintain good relationships with local partners and organizations in our region, including the city government, NGOs, and businesses.
Due to many personal contacts and relationships with Ukrainians, I am personally involved in the team for social and humanitarian assistance for refugees.
