Petr Lupton
Petr Lupton is the Executive Director of NePornu, an organisation that seeks to help men in the area of moral purity.
I accepted Jesus in the summer of 2004 at English Camp. I was 15 years old, and it was my first contact with Christians. I was deeply touched by the testimonies of the team leaders from the Czech Republic and the USA. I dedicated myself to Christ at camp and was baptized nine months later.
My decision to study theology is the most defining moment of my walk with Christ. I saw myself grow closer to Christ in incredible ways throughout my studies. I was blessed to have the opportunity to learn so much about God and His love. Another moment was when I volunteered at the Ashburnham Christian Conference Centre in England for a summer. It was a valuable growing experience to be challenged and mentored by others who share my passion for Christ. My pastor and mentor have also played significant roles in my walk with Christ and have continuously encouraged my faith.
The Forum benefits my ministry because I can network with many people and gain essential and helpful tools. The Forum is always a great encouragement to me, and there are always ways to bring what I have learned back to my country to share with others. I am grateful to network with others and learn new things.
Thanks to the Forum, I was able to gather some contacts and start preparations to take our project to other countries as well. As of the time of registration, I am currently planning specific steps for this, but we should start actively expanding to Slovakia and Slovenia. In the past two years, I have begun giving back to the Forum by mentoring and teaching a seminar.
I am the founder and executive director of NePornu, a ministry that serves over 800 clients each year and raises awareness about the dangers of pornography. I am also an elder in our local church. My ministry is based on my mentor's book, The Purity War, by Jim Cecy. I meet with men regularly in small groups or one-on-one meetings and try to help them in their struggle with purity. I also organise seminars on moral purity, similar to Jim Cecy's. Besides that, I have been responsible for teaching a small group hoping to plant a church in the future.
Previously, I was a theology student. I also helped with the youth group, leading Bible classes, visiting rehabilitation centers for the elderly, and visiting rehabilitation centers for those imprisoned. In addition, I preached in various churches and was involved in a leadership team for an English Camp.
There is great potential for spreading the Gospel in my country. Also, it will give me the opportunity to keep growing and networking with Christian leaders from other countries will provide me with ‘fresh" perspectives on leadership. It would be an excellent opportunity to gain the wisdom and knowledge of leaders worldwide to help me in my ministry in the Czech Republic. I am so thankful that after many years of being ‘poured on’, I can now give back as well by mentoring and teaching!
