Pál Domokos Székely
Pál Domokos Székely is an assistant pastor in Hungary.
As a high school freshman, I encountered classmates who demonstrated a serious relationship with Jesus. I realised my beliefs were superficial and became thirsty for that deep connection with Christ. After exploring my own relationship with Christ, in 2010, I laid all my sins before the Lord. I have followed him since.
After high school, I served the Lord in a workshop for disabled people with an emphasis on epilepsy. This was the first extended period in my life where I was alone with Jesus. I realised I was never alone. His Holy Spirit's presence gave me strength to ensure that time. Subsequently, I spent six years studying to be a pastor in Budapest. During that time, I studied biblical theology, which was a game changer for developing an understanding of the workings of the Bible. During my studies, I began translating content for the BibleProject for myself, progressing into localising these treasures professionally. Since 2017, I have worked to broaden the Kingdom of God in Hungary, working with teams to translate and localise content for the Hungarian community.
My peers in youth ministry, Youth Builders, informed me about the Forum and encouraged me to learn how it can help my ministry. I am a team leader and feel a need to learn more about managing projects. I look forward to discovering similar leadership perspectives on building and managing a team, as well as learning the pitfalls to expect and processes to overcome those challenges. I have not had the opportunity to plan the future, but I am excited to think through what God has in store for me!
I am an assistant pastor for a suburban church, Fordított Királyság Alapítvány in Fót. My ministry is with youth, leading groups and conducting discipling courses every two years. I also lead a team of professionals dedicated to creating localised Hungarian versions of BibleProject videos. This team is expanding continually to add new projects as we grow.
I served as a youth small group leader for my hometown church.
Our foundation engages in revolutionary teaching about Jesus and the Bible online. Our society needs to respond to the decreasing number of people reading the Bible but spending increased time in the virtual world of the internet. Our mission is to create freedom from the online space and explore what it means to trust and follow Jesus as the Bible teaches. I want to improve managing the localisation team and lead expansion for the Kingdom of God.
