Mihaela Vieriu
Mihaela Vieriu is a counsellor in Romania.
I decided to trust and follow Jesus at 18 while still attending college. I am very blessed to have been born into a Christian family.
I attended a women's conference in 2008 that helped reaffirm my strong call to women's ministry. Then in 2012, I was invited to attend the disciple-making courses of Priscilla School, followed by some counselling courses organised by the Association of Christian Counselors in 2013. I grew spiritually by taking these courses. Moving forward, I want to improve my counselling skills, as there is a real need for counselling in the local churches of Romania.
At the Forum, I got professional answers to many of my questions. The materials, the topics, and the wonderful people I met at the Forum are gold for me. This year, I hope to become better equipped for counselling. The prayers for me and my work as a counsellor, the speakers and their relevant experience, and the talks and practical guidance are very precious to me!
I have been a counsellor and a leader in women's ministry. My heart is for the counselling ministry, and I have plenty of opportunities to counsel both at my workplace and at the church of God. My credo in counselling is that each and every counselling session includes the counsellor, the counselee, and the Holy Spirit, Who is present for both counsellor and counselee.
My leadership role was and still is to work with Christian women. I am thrilled that non-Christian women have also attended our group activities this year.
The main reason why people may want to invest in me is because they know Romania has a real need for counselling! Although there is little activity in counselling, this is primarily due to a lack of training. There is much to be done in the local churches, and many do not offer counselling. I firmly believe people will understand the urgency of training passionate people to do God's work.
