Matej Pisarik
Matěj Písařík is a coordinator at NePornu, a non-profit organisation in the Czech Republic that helps with addiction recovery.
I was born to a Christian family and decided to follow Jesus in my childhood. Then, I was baptised at twelve years old. During my adolescence, I fell into a deep depression, but God rescued me. After I started to trust God again, I decided to follow Jesus once again.
Depression has greatly affected my life. I lived like that for almost one year, which destroyed my previous thinking system. Nevertheless, coming out of this period completely changed my understanding of God and people for the better and gave me another chance at life.
At the Forum, I realised how important it is to work with young people and approach each of them individually. This year, I would like to try a new Network that will provide me with new perspectives and insights and help me improve in part of my work. Participating in the Forum will be highly beneficial for me and, at the same time, will give me a chance to share my experiences of working with people who struggle with problematic pornography use (PPU).
I work as a coordinator of volunteers for a non-profit organisation that supports men addicted to pornography, called NePornu. I coordinate two areas. First, I support anonymous pornaholic groups, helping porn-addicted people support each other in small communities. My current work primarily involves raising awareness about the issue of problematic pornography use and its prevention among elementary and high school students. In short, I create prevention programs and coordinate their implementation.
I have led a Bible study group by UKH (IFES in the Czech Republic) at the university. Additionally, I am a youth leader in my church.
Our ministry does something no one else is doing in our country. It has enormous potential—to preach the Gospel and help many people change their lives. By investing in me, you are helping me to bring new inspiration to my hometown, my youth group, and my ministry.
