What is your ministry?

I am transitioning from my church, where I have been serving in the teaching team and the youth ministry, to a new church. I am not clear yet what my new role will be at the new church; I am in conversation with my new pastor.

When did you trust Christ?

I was never brought up in a Christian family. I was brought up thinking that there is a God, but I did not know He had any power over this world. As a kid, I loved sports and played football weekly with some missionaries now serving in Croatia. The leader invited me to a youth group where I heard about a God that is active and working in this world, and He is powerful and mighty. I did that for a couple of years, and then I wanted to attend church. God has tremendously used that to show me that I cannot keep Jesus as an addition to my life but that I need to go all in. It was a process of discovering the seriousness of my sin and the just consequence I deserved. I finally understood the immense mercy and grace of our God, who died for me. Now being a new creation and having different desires, I lost all my old friends, but God has given me new ones. God has been gracious with a sinner like me and has given me desires that I would never have thought I would have. I am a mechanical engineer by trade, but God has led me to study His Word more in-depth. I am now studying theology, mission, and ministry.

What have been the defining moments of your Christian walk?

First, seeing God as a living God who is at work today. Second, going to Church and hearing about Him. Third, reading the Word of God and understanding the Gospel. Fourth, starting college and going deeper into studying the Word of God. Fifth, learning about exegesis and hermeneutics and their importance and value. Finally, looking back and seeing the faithfulness of God throughout my life.

What do you hope to gain from participating?

Since attending ELF, I have seen personal growth in leading and communicating with fellow leaders and students. I have also used material to teach others how to be better at leading and communicating, not just everyday things that happen in our lives, but to be the light for the Gospel and explain it thoroughly and boldly. I want to connect with other faithful believers, find resources to help me be a better disciple of Jesus, and learn how to help others in Slovenia.

What is your leadership role or what were your past leadership roles?

For quite some time, I helped lead some youth groups, namely junior high for two years and college small groups. I am one of 2 leaders for our high school ministry, plus three faithful other servants who help us lead. I have also been a technician in our church for the past several years.

Why should someone invest in your ministry?

I am studying theology to be a better theologian and a better leader and to pass on the knowledge through the ministry I am now involved in and will be in the future.
