What is your ministry?
My primary ministry focus is currently on preaching and leading. Together with my wife and a single man, we lead one of three missional communities in our church, which provides more discipling and counseling opportunities. Besides this, I am involved in the youth ministry of my denomination, where I am one of the main speakers and seminar teachers. I've had the privilege of speaking at Josiah Venture's National Youth Conference in Slovakia a few times. My wife and I are also praying about planting another church in our city.
When did you trust Christ?
It was at a Christian camp in the summer of 2007. For the first time, I was praying and felt like God was there and listening to me. And I felt His presence right there next to me. That was the beginning of my relationship with Jesus.
What have been the defining moments of your Christian walk?
Others have impacted my faith through their relationships with Jesus and seeing their lives and their living faith. And then, of course, situations in my life where God was working and teaching me lessons (like when I gave up a job to do ministry and God miraculously took care of me financially). Or when I was struggling with a sin that I could not defeat, but He was still there waiting for me to come and restore my soul. He gave me more strength to keep fighting, and I finally won the fight (He taught me that He is faithful and still there for me, despite what I have done). And one of the biggest things I see is that, long before I became a Christian, God took care of me and prepared me to accept Him when the time came.
What do you hope to gain from participating?
Being at the Forum and connecting and getting to know other leaders is such an encouragement for my ministry and personal life. With only about .01 percent of the population being evangelicals in Slovakia, it frequently feels lonely and sometimes hopeless. But by being here, being part of this more comprehensive network of fellow workers for the gospel, God is using this to encourage and equip me for ministry back home.
It is hard to overstate the Forum's impact on my life and ministry over the last few years.
Why should someone invest in your ministry?
I am from Slovakia, the very heart of Europe. I serve in a very Catholic city of 70,000 people. There is so much of historical and old Christianity in my town, yet words like "Jesus," "Christian," and "faith" have been emptied of meaning. We are virtually the only evangelical church in the city.
