Marek Tomašovič
Marek Tomašovič is a pastor in Slovakia.
It was at a Christian camp in the summer of 2007. I was praying and, for the first time, felt like God was really there and listening to me. I felt His presence right there next to me. That was the beginning of my relationship with Jesus.
One of the biggest things I see is that God was taking care of me long before I became a Christian and preparing me to accept Him when the time came. My faith has grown through situations in my life where God was working and teaching me lessons. For example, when I gave up a job so I could do ministry, God miraculously took care of my finances. Additionally, when I was struggling with a sin that I was not able to defeat, He was still there, restoring my soul and giving me more strength to keep fighting, and I finally won the fight. He taught me that He is faithful, and He is still there for me despite what I have done.
The Forum has always been a place of much-needed refreshment and a place to reinforce existing relationships and form new ones. I want to encourage others at the Forum, and I want to be open to being encouraged by them as well. What the Forum is able to accomplish by bringing together hundreds of evangelical leaders from across Europe is so unique and precious!
I serve as the Lead Pastor in my home church in Trnava, Slovakia. My main roles are preaching, developing new leaders, and helping the church clarify and follow its vision in our city. Our church has also started a Christian primary school in Trnava, where I meet regularly with students and their parents. Denomination-wide, I am part of the church planting committee and am regularly involved in denominational youth ministry efforts.
I have served as a pastor and been involved in planting a church.
Having fellowship with Christians from all around Europe is an invaluable aid. Talking with different people and hearing their opinions and ideas about my situation (and vice versa) is a rare and remarkable thing.
