Lindsay Brown
Lindsay Brown is the Former General Secretary of IFES.
I trusted Christ in 1968 through the influence of a small Baptist Sunday school on the housing estate where I lived with my grandmother.
My defining moments have included my conversion, leadership positions with IFES and Lausanne, and directing a Europe-wide network of university evangelists.
I have been attending the Forum for many years. Throughout the years, I have been involved in many different Networks and initiatives as a participant, leader, and mentor. This year, I am leading a track for global leaders and will also speak on great European evangelists in the 20th Century.
My ministry includes mentoring, speaking, and leading a network of over 150 university evangelists all across Europe who speak at over 150 mission weeks a year in Europe.
I studied history at Oxford University, where I was elected President of the Christian Union, and theology at the Faculty of Theology at Vaux-sur-Seine near Paris. After working as a student in Britain, I was European Secretary of the International Fellowship of Evangelical Students from May 1982 to July 1991. After that time, I served as the International General Secretary of IFES until July 2007. In January 2008, I began work as Evangelist at Large with IFES, where I spoke at university missions and was involved in training university evangelists. In addition, I served as the International Director of the Lausanne Movement in the run-up to the Third Lausanne Congress on World Evangelization. In addition, I served on many boards, including the Elam ministry.
I am investing strategically in global and European leaders. I have been involved in doing this for over 45 years.
