Lidia Leahu
Lidia Leahu is a psychologist in Romania.
I was 14 when I trusted Christ. I was born in a Christian home, and I have heard of Jesus since I was little and perceived Him as a reality. As I grew up, I understood His work, His plans for my life, and my total dependence on His work as Saviour and Lord. At 15, I got baptised, and since then, my life has been one of learning to walk with Him and getting involved in His purposes with His resources.
Our church had quite a large congregation, and many good preachers used to visit us. It made me feel privileged to be a Christian and to belong to such a lovely community. At the same time, I was experiencing God regularly through His Word, prayer, songs I used to sing, and many miraculous situations. As a result, I chose to study at a theological university, which helped me grow and get more involved in the community. A big step in my walk with God was experiencing the Holy Spirit and learning more about His work.
I expect it will benefit my ministry by improving the quality of my work through equipping, sharing, and mentoring in topics of interest for such involvement.
I work as a professional counsellor at my church and in my office. I counsel women with psychological, familial, or spiritual distress. I also lead a support group for women to attain psychological and spiritual well-being and learn life skills. I also prepare handouts and speak on relevant psychological topics.
I was involved in the community as an evangelist through social work for low-income families. In addition, I lead after-school projects for children coming from poor environments. Currently, I work as a professional counsellor at my church and in association with a Christian organisation.
They would want to invest in me because I'm motivated to grow and develop better competencies to serve in this counselling field, where the need is huge. I've proven to be consistent in time and results. Even while I raised my three children, I kept studying and completed my formation. So, I'm at a new stage of my life, looking for more community service. Helping could make a significant difference in my area of influence.
