Leszek Wakula
Leszek Wakula is a pastor and the President of the Polish Bible Society and the Baptist Union of Poland.
I became a Christian when I was a young man. I gave my life to Christ in 1973 during an evangelistic meeting, and I have never looked back!
Some of the crucial moments from my walk with the Lord include my theological education, attendance at a youth ministry/camp ministry, ministry in the local church, and the personal mentoring I received from a close brother and friend.
As a result of the Forum, my life has changed, my family has changed, and my church is changing. Thanks to the Forum’s inspiration and encouragement, I joyfully disciple younger leaders and mentor several pastors. My family also engages in making disciples. We are also experiencing a transformation in our church because of discipleship groups. Also, I want to connect with other like-minded leaders to exchange our experiences and see mutual ministry growth. Attending ELF is a deep battery recharge for my soul and ministry. It is a place for learning and growing. Over the past years, I have deepened my discipleship, apologetics, homiletics, and church revitalisation skills. This year, I am looking forward to participating in the Marriage & Family Network and serving as a mentor.
There are three main areas of my current ministry: pastoring and shepherding in the local church, teaching and leading the Billy Graham Institute for Evangelism and Discipleship, and chairing the ministry of the Polish Bible Society, which is the largest platform to promote and distribute the Bible in Poland.
I was the Youth Director for the Baptist Union of Poland (1991-2007). I was General Secretary of the Baptist Union of Poland (1999-2007).
I am a senior past of a large congregation, by Polish standards. Also, I oversee multiple churches in the central region of Poland. Therefore, investing in my ministry will be an investment into multiplying the disciples of Jesus in Łódź and expanding the Kingdom in our city and region of Poland.
