When did you trust Christ?

At the age of 28, my life became a big mess due to terrible decisions earlier on. At the time, I was going through a divorce, and I was sent to America for work. A colleague talked with me about my views on church, marriage, and God and put things in perspective for me. She took me to her church the next day, and the pastor there mentioned all the things that were spiritually frustrating for me (having grown up Catholic) and that a relationship with God is separate from what people do. At that moment, I laid down my life, followed Jesus, and did things His way. I later married this young woman, and my life changed radically.

What do you hope to gain from participating?

I'd never been discipled before Novio Nijmegen. One of the things about RM that spoke to me in the beginning was spiritual maturity. That is what I would like to become, and I also want to get tools to start sharing what I learn. I'm unsure if a year would get me there, but this would be a great start. I hope to understand better what God calls me and my family for and my role within Novio Church.

What is your ministry?

I'm a husband and a father of two daughters. I serve coffee and translate at Novio Church in Nijmegen. Also, I have a passion for healing and telling people about the supernatural power of God. I tend to be a bridge builder between people and organisations. I learned that by not judging people and understanding where I came from everyone has a place in God's kingdom. I tend to be a good listener and ask questions, which I use to understand who people are and what they need and appreciate in life.

What is your leadership role or what were your past leadership roles?

I'm not in a leadership role in the church, but I've been in leadership through my work. My role is managing director there. I tend to make people feel comfortable and laugh a lot. The people I lead have not necessarily been people who report to me, though that has been a big part of my career. My style there is to sit with the individuals and learn where they are, their passions, and where they want to go. My job is to bring them from A to B or give them the tools. My best leadership role is when I can serve another leader. This gives me the most joy and has been my most rewarding role.
