Katarína Zemčík is the Editor-in-Chief of a Slovakian organisation translating Christian materials into Slovak.

When did you trust Christ?

I grew up in church and learned about Jesus at Christian kids' camps every summer. At age 9 or 10, I trusted Christ with our team leaders and then alone at home during a difficult time.

What have been the defining moments of your Christian walk?

Christian summer kids' camps, friendships with church peers and adults, and high school youth group meetings helped me grow. At my church (CB Paradox), I have gained support and guidance through sermons, leaders, conversations, and friendships with my community group leaders. Working with Spoločenstvo Evanjelia has also built my faith.

What do you hope to gain from participating?

My colleague, Ján Henžel, invited me. I hope to gain insight into development, leadership, and fundraising for our organisation and projects so we can deliver high-quality work based on biblical principles. I also expect to network and build partnerships with participants working in similar ministry areas.

What is your ministry?

As a Project Manager and Editor-in-Chief of ReFormatio (an imprint of Spoločenstvo Evanjelia), I publish Christian books and materials and ensure they reach people. Most of the books and materials are translated from English, and I manage the publishing process, from buying the rights to crowdfunding, sales, and marketing. I also assist with our organisation's web page, e-shop administration, and event preparation.

What is your leadership role or what were your past leadership roles?

I volunteered as a team leader at children's summer camps—leading kids, supporting the leadership, and managing camp art projects. I also served as Editor-in-Chief of our church's magazine and ran a church bookstall.

Why should someone invest in your ministry?

Few books and materials with Reformed biblical views are available in Slovak, making our ministry vital for Slovakian believers who have minimal access to quality Christian books. Many Slovakians are not proficient in English or prefer reading in Slovak for better understanding. We address this by translating articles, courses, books, etc. and organising conferences and workshops. With almost no Christian book publishing tradition or professional organisation leadership in Slovakia, I have limited resources to educate myself in this ministry.
