Juraj Simocko is the Director of the Conference Team for Josiah Venture Slovakia and a youth ministry leader in his local church.

When did you trust Christ?

I made the decision to follow Jesus with all my heart when I was 13, during a summer camp organised by my local church. I come from a difficult family situation, but Jesus found me, and I said "yes" to His invitation.

What have been the defining moments of your Christian walk?

When I accepted Christ, I joined youth group and was discipled in a small group. At 15, I joined the youth group leaders team and became a worship leader. I got married at 22, and my wife and I led the high school ministry for five years. In 2019, I joined Josiah Venture Slovakia and became the leader of the annual conference КРМ. I have been an elder of our church for the last seven years.

What do you hope to gain from participating?

I hope to establish new relationships, make new connections, find new opportunities, and learn much to inspire me in my ministry.

What is your ministry?

I am with TCKompas and serve on the Josiah Venture team in Slovakia leading KPM. I am also involved in several smaller programs such as Youth Ministry Recharge. At my local church, I am on the Sunday services team, and my wife and I belong to a couples small group.

What is your leadership role or what were your past leadership roles?

At 15, I learned to play guitar and piano and became youth group worship leader (later on, a worship leader at national events}. Between the ages of 15 and 22, I served on the middle school ministry team. For five years after that, I led the high school ministry team. At 24, I became an elder, and the following year, leader of the conference for youth leaders in Slovakia - KPM.

Why should someone invest in your ministry?

I believe God is using me in my local church and on a national level and that He can use me to a greater extent as He moves in Slovakia and Eastern Europe. At the Forum, I will be able to expand my knowledge and find new resources to benefit my ministries.
