Jonas Kattner Sørensen is a youth minister in Denmark.
When did you trust Christ?
I've always been a believer, but my experience is that I have to put my trust in Christ again and again. I did that as a child, as a teen, and now as an adult. The trust looks differently in each phase of my life, but the Person whom I trust never changes.
What have been the defining moments of your Christian walk?
I have had many defining moments in my life with Christ. One of the heaviest moments was when I was in Bible school four years ago. I doubted if God's grace covered my sin, but through the Bible reading, teaching, and my prayer life, the Lord convinced me that He died for my sin. Since then, I have always been certain of my salvation in Christ.
What do you hope to gain from participating?
The Forum has given me better tools for analysing the ideas and thoughts of the time. Additionally, it has shown me how biblical truths still apply in Denmark today. I've also been participating in local evangelising events, for which the Forum has prepared me well. I want to return to ELF to get encouragement for my ministry in Copenhagen. ELF has a clear mission, and the gathering of our communion helps me in my ministry. I also want to learn more about apologetics because I need it for myself, and it will help me in conversations with both believers and non-believers. ELF is a fantastic conference—of course, I want to return!
What is your ministry?
I work at my church (Vigerslev Kirke) every Tuesday and Sunday. On Tuesdays, I teach and disciple the youth group and the families with children. On Sundays, I contribute to the Sunday service. I also preach at different Lutheran Mission churches. About once a month, I'm a part of a group of different churches working together for revival in Copenhagen.
What is your leadership role or what were your past leadership roles?
I have been involved in disciple-making, preaching, youth ministry, and student revival efforts in Copenhagen.
Why should someone invest in your ministry?
Because the work of the Lord is important, the servants of Christ should get the best tools for their ministry. I need tools to interpret the Bible and the ideas of the time. I think that is key for healthy, relevant, and biblical teaching and ministry. This is necessary in Copenhagen and Denmark at large.
