Joel Hircock

Joel Hircock is a Parliamentary Assistant and member of the CARE leadership programme in England.
I was blessed to have been born into a Christian family. I heard the Gospel at church and saw faith in Jesus lived out by my parents. At age five, I asked God to forgive my sins and help me follow Jesus. When I was 14, I asked to be baptised, publicly marking my profession of faith.
When I was younger, I did not know many Christians my age. At university, I was blown away by the number of young people I met who were passionate about living for Christ and seeking to encourage others in their walk. As I became one of the older students, it was a privilege to lead Bible studies and disciple younger Christians.
I am looking forward to the world-class teaching at ELF, which will significantly expand my understanding of God's Word and its application, personally and professionally. I expect to share experiences with and learn from others who have a calling to serve God in the public square and also develop relationships that might benefit my future public ministry.
I am a member of the CARE Leadership Programme, interning with the Rt. Hon. John Glen MP. I support him in his role as a national politician, aiding him with research, organising his diary, running his social media, and replying to policy emails from constituents. I am gaining experience and developing skills that are preparing me for future leadership in the public square.
For the last three years, I have been a leader for Pioneer Christian Camp, directly responsible for a small group of boys. I have prepared and led Bible studies, as well as encouraged and discipled younger Christians.
I am a Parliamentary Assistant, working with some of my country's most powerful and influential leaders. In the CARE leadership programme, I am learning what being a godly and discerning leader in the public square looks like. As a committed Christian, I hope to influence the world for Christ.
