When did you trust Christ?
Although a specific date is difficult to nail down, I believe I trusted in Christ Alone for my salvation when I was in my first year of university in 1977.
What do you hope to gain from participating?
Given the context of my ministry in Evansville, where there are many Catholics, I'm engaging with many students who are catholic or were formerly catholic. I would like to be able to answer their questions better so that I can provide them with the distinctions between our two expressions.
What is your ministry?
My current ministry is Emet Ministries, Inc. The mission of the ministry is to help Disciples of Christ become Disciplers. I currently meet with almost 40 young men on a weekly basis. Over twenty of the young men attend a Saturday morning Bible study that I have hosted for around 20 years for College students who attend two local Universities.
The weekly one-on-one meetings involve prayer, Bible study, and discussion of life issues ranging from marriage to raising children to resolving work-related issues. With over 40 years in the business world (30 years at the largest bank in Indiana), I developed one aspect of my gift of administration by helping young men develop professionally, spiritually, and emotionally. The Saturday morning Bible study is focused primarily on teaching the young men how to pray and study the Bible. This time involves a time of praise as well, as we sing hymns to the Lord.
