Jaroslaw Lukasik is the President of the Eastern European Reformation Foundation and is from Ukraine.

When did you trust Christ?

I trusted in Christ in 1987 at a youth camp.

What have been the defining moments of your Christian walk?

One of the most defining moments of my Christian walk occurred when I heard God’s call to preach the Gospel in the Soviet Union. Several teachers also helped me at various other stages of my life.

What do you hope to gain from participating?

I first attended the European Leadership Forum in 2009, which had a decisive influence on my ministry's development. First, being at the Forum is a great privilege because I receive fundamental knowledge and training from experienced leaders. Second, I can also build relationships with other leaders from different countries and cooperate with them, for example, by inviting them to our country to speak or hold training events. Third, the Forum is encouraging to me because of the atmosphere of fellowship and the testimony of the other Christians who attend. Fourth, I hope to continue being trained in my developing ministry.

What is your ministry?

I'm the president of the Eastern European Reformation Foundation, which implements projects in the following areas: evangelisation, education, service to children, chaplain ministry, humanitarian projects, etc. I'm also a founder of the Christian Open Academy, which was developed from the Eastern European Leadership Forum. This year, we held 3 forums and plan to host another one; we serve dozens of different Forum speakers. I also serve on the European Leadership Forum Steering Committee.

What is your leadership role or what were your past leadership roles?

I planted a church in Minsk, Belarus, in which almost all the members were young, highly educated people. After 13 years, I was deported (like many other missionaries and Catholic priests), and I moved my family to Kyiv, Ukraine. In 2001, several of us started the New Reformation Movement, which created unity among the Evangelical churches and denominations, assisting Protestant churches in Eastern Europe in their activities and spreading the Christian worldview into various spheres of society.

Why should someone invest in your ministry?

I’m very open to what the Lord wants to do in my life and ministry through His servants. Currently, that has a lot to do with the war in Ukraine. I am involved in relief and have a crucial ministry in the context of the trauma caused by the war.
