Csaba Janos is a pastor and the President of the Convention of the Hungarian Baptist Churches of Romania.

When did you trust Christ?

I became a Christian in 1992 when I first heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ in a Baptist Church in Oradea, Romania. I understood on that Sunday morning that I was a sinner but that Christ Jesus loved me and had died for me. That recognition guided me to repentance.

What have been the defining moments of your Christian walk?

My grandfather was a good Christian man. He was an example for me. We had many conversations about the Christian life that guide me to this day.

What do you hope to gain from participating?

Attending the Forum in the past gave me a deeper knowledge of the Bible and helped me develop my preaching. I have received new methods by getting to know and listening to other spiritual leaders. I want to attend the Soul Care for Leaders Network because last year in my country, I met with many leaders who were spiritually depressed. I would like to learn how I can help them. At the same time, I would like to meet more Christian leaders to learn from them.

What is your ministry?

I am a pastor in two Hungarian Baptist churches in Romania—in Baia Mare and Coltau. I am also a teacher in a Bible school in the Mission District of Salaj. I am also the President of the Convention of the Hungarian Baptist Churches of Romania, which as an organisation has 9,000 members. Besides this, I regularly speak at conferences in Eastern Europe.

What is your leadership role or what were your past leadership roles?

Before my current roles, I was a Sunday school teacher and a youth leader.

Why should someone invest in your ministry?

I want to grow not only in knowledge but in my spiritual life, too. I want to be a pastor, and a Christian worker prepared to serve others in Romania.
