Ivan Fink
Ivan Fink is a Mission Leader and is involved in evangelism-oriented missions, as well as prison ministry in Slovakia.
I gave my life to Christ in 1999, in the Teen Challenge rehab centre, where I sought a solution to my drug addiction. When I gave my life to Christ, it completely changed my life. God gave me the freedom and hope I had never had. He also gave meaning to my life, put faith into my heart, and granted me a new life that I enjoy living even to this day.
I was in the Teen Challenge program from 1999-2001, where I started reading the Bible and praying. Every day, we had quiet time, worship services, Bible studies, and individual lessons, during which we learned how to apply biblical truths. This helped me to understand the Bible and Christianity and to meet God personally. Later, in 2011, I joined the Evangelical Theology Faculty in Banska Bystrica, where I studied theology. This school gave me new perspectives on the church, Christianity, and Christian ministry.
Attending the European Leadership Forum has been life-changing. As a result of attending the Forum, I have seen my ministry grow and become more professional and efficient. I would like to return because ELF is where my ministry began, and it is where I find all the spiritual guidance and wisdom for how to proceed with it. It is very valuable for my ministry and for me personally. God is using ELF, and I see great value in my ministry.
My current ministry is an evangelism-oriented mission, as well as a prison ministry in Slovakia. I’ve worked mainly with marginalised people groups, such as children from disadvantaged families, prison inmates, and drug addicts.
I was a mission team leader while doing international missions in Serbia. I was also one of the leaders in our Roma mission trips, where I was one of the speakers.
My ministry combines two components: biblical truths and theoretical knowledge on one side and life experience and understanding on the other. In my ministry, I combine the two to understand people through love and acceptance and then offer Christ and His Word as the ultimate solution. I have found that people accept the solution offered much more quickly when I tell them how I have been in a similar situation.
