Hristian Staykov is an assistant professor of pharmacology and a medical doctor in Bulgaria who desires to use event planning to enrich his ministry.

When did you trust Christ?

I began my journey towards Christ in late adolescence, curious about the supernatural. Occult practices and deep-rooted psychological problems led me to search for help, which I found in an online Bible. After reading through the Bible and various other Christian materials on my own, I started going to church and got baptised during my second year at university.

What have been the defining moments of your Christian walk?

Several years of close one-on-one mentorship from a theologian friend and the love of other Christians have made me who I am today. Another defining moment was my five-year involvement in Campus Crusade for Christ (Cru), first as a visitor and later as a leader. It helped immensely by giving me a safe environment to grow spiritually, psychologically, and socially. The church I attend is exceptionally active and calls for a high level of performance.

What do you hope to gain from participating?

I hope to network with other Christian event planners and develop a professional, evidence-based approach to event planning, execution, evaluation and participant follow-up.

What is your ministry?

I am a medical doctor and an assistant professor of pharmacology, with leadership roles in the following organizations: the Bulgarian Christian Medical Union, the International Christian Medical and Dental Association, PRIME International, and the Bulgarian Rule of Law Institute.

What is your leadership role or what were your past leadership roles?

I was a student-leader in Cru for about two years. I have held various leadership roles in church-related activities, discussions, educational, and other groups; social and medical work, mainly with university students, the elderly, and the community-disadvantaged. I have also participated in two Christian medical missions. In Sofia, Bulgaria, I was on the organisational team for a BCMU conference in 2022 and an RLI conference in 2024. For over five years, I have organised and led educational seminars for medical and dental students at the Medical University of Sofia every semester.

Why should someone invest in your ministry?

I have the long-term goal of organizing and lecturing at Christian apologetics events. Despite my previous experience, I still need to learn many aspects of event planning.
