Henrik Eriksen
Henrik Eriksen is a rector for the Danish Bible Institute and the International University College in Denmark.
I grew up in a Christian family and have never decided to leave Christ. However, when I was 13 years old, I came to a precise personal identity: I believed in Jesus Christ on my own and not just because of my family.
As a 15-year-old teenager, I led our local Christian youth group. This gave me foundational training as a Christian leader and became formative for the rest of my life. As a young Bible school student, I studied theology to serve in Christian ministry. During my first years as a graduate, I thought I should focus totally on preaching and Bible teaching. However, the call to General Secretary in IFES-Denmark opened my eyes to my role in leadership, and since I have had a clear understanding of a dual calling: theology and leadership.
I aim to develop my contacts in the Theologians Network and bring students from Copenhagen as their guide for personal and professional inspiration, networking, and refreshment for my ministry.
In my first years after university, I was a travelling preacher for the Danish Bible Institute, including contact with donors. After that, I spent five years as a General Secretary in IFES/KFS Denmark. I spent 19 years as principal of a Bible school (Luthersk Missions Højskole), and since 2022, I have been the rector at the Danish Bible Institute.
I have had a few roles, including General Secretary at IFES-Denmark, principal at a Bible school (Luthersk Missions Højskole), and my current role as Rector at the Danish Bible Institute.
The Danish Bible Institute is a vital resource for evangelical theology in Denmark, where most theologians are liberal.
