Gabriel Stråhlman is a teacher at Uppsala University in Sweden.

When did you trust Christ?

I grew up with a Christian mother and a Muslim father but never became genuinely devout in either religion. In my teenage years, I briefly experienced a non-denominational church where I began to believe in God. I became disenchanted by the elements of prosperity gospel theology, which ultimately led me to abandon my faith. Six years ago, I started reading a book by William Lane Craig. This began a journey of discovering the historical evidence for the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. This led me to a nearby church where I chose to recommit my life to Jesus.

What have been the defining moments of your Christian walk?

My journey with Christ began with the writings of William Lane Craig. Later, Martin Helgesson at Roseniuskyrkan helped me address challenges in my faith. Becoming familiar with Luther and Lutheran theology, I joined Roseniuskyrkan and became a Lutheran. Today, I am studying to become a religion teacher in Sweden and am considering pursuing a Doctorate in Philosophy of Religion.

What do you hope to gain from participating?

My pastor, Martin Helgesson, suggested that attending the European Leadership Forum will deepen my understanding of theology, philosophy, and apologetics. Receiving solid theological teaching and sound doctrine will equip me to serve my church and the secular schools in Sweden, particularly at the university and upper-secondary levels. Additionally, the knowledge and connections I make will support my efforts in launching a theological podcast, where we will explore challenging topics that represent challenges for new Christians.

What is your ministry?

I am a teacher at Uppsala University. I desire that God will use me in my role so that my students see Christ through my profession. Additionally, I am in the process of starting a theological podcast, which I am developing to be a blessing to many new Christians.

What is your leadership role or what were your past leadership roles?

My leadership roles have been focused in the secular university education community in Sweden.

Why should someone invest in your ministry?

Investing in my training and ministry would allow me to grow in my ability to serve in the church and the secular academic environment in Sweden. As I grow as a religion teacher, I want to present Christian perspectives that encourage thoughtful engagement with faith. Additionally, I am starting a theological podcast to help new Christians navigate difficult questions. Extended training will ensure that my content is biblically grounded and supportive. I would be deeply grateful for any support. Your support will contribute to Christian education and outreach in areas needing Christ.
