Filip Karaj
Currently, I am a deacon at the local church, where I serve as a youth leader. Our church has 15 young people who attend our youth groups. Also, I am on the board for organising one of the biggest youth conferences in Croatia. Since summer camps significantly impacted me, I can now invest in new generations of believers. In addition, in the last year, God opened the doors for me to serve by preaching His Word on different occasions.
When I was 17, during the summer camp in Croatia, I realised what Jesus had done for me. Until this point, I knew about His death and resurrection, but I thought that I had to be perfectly clean to come to Him. At the camp, during the sermon, I realised that He frees me from my sin and that I can go to Him as I am. He showed me that his sacrifice and resurrection are enough and that I have to accept it. A few months later, I was baptised.
Growing up in a Christian family was a period of my life where I learned much about God and His presence among the people, which helped me in my Christian walk. During my teenage years at summer camps, I felt God called me to serve in the local church with youth. My parents, youth leaders, and leaders at the summer camps have impacted my faith.
Since God opened the doors for me to preach His Word more often, I hope to connect with people I could learn from and gain some knowledge and experience to grow in my ministry.
I'm a young leader that doesn't have many roles behind me. In the last five years, I served as a youth leader in the local church. I also organised summer camps and youth conferences.
Since I was recognised as a deacon and a youth leader by the local church and Baptist Union of Croatia, I believe they want me to grow in both my character and leadership skills.
