Filip Grujec
I currently serve as the lead pastor of Zagreb Baptist Church, Croatia's most prominent and oldest Baptist church. I am also serving as a member of the Croatian Baptist Union Executive Committee and the European Baptist Federation Theology and Education Commission member.
When I was 16, I joined the church football team and soon started attending youth meetings. That was my first encounter with the Gospel. I became a Christian a year later at one of the church youth camps. This was the beginning of my walk with Christ. I was baptised a year later in the church where I pastor today.
My past mentors, youth leaders, and pastors have greatly influenced my life. The elderly members of my church congregation have been a continuing prayer support throughout my formation and remain praying for me. One of the defining moments of my Christian walk was deciding to enter a theological seminary and hearing the call into ministry.
I anticipate engaging in a learning process focused on my areas of ministry interest. I am also looking forward to connecting with other leaders in European churches, developing friendships, and exchanging experiences.
My past roles have included: youth coordinator, youth camp counsellor, deacon, assistant pastor, and vice-chairman of the European Baptist Federation Youth and Children Executive Committee.
I believe I have benefited from past training experiences in similar contexts, and those experiences have profoundly enriched my ministry. I think I will use the knowledge and experience to gain a fresh vision for better serving my local and national congregation.
