Dimitar Spassov
I am part of the Crossroads Church worship team. I am an assistant to Mihail Stefanov in our church's Apologetics course. For the last two years, I have been leading the Apologetics Workshop of our Crossroads Youth Summer Camp, in which I designed the programme and taught Apologetics for several days.
I was born and raised in a Christian family. I do not have a specific "key moment" that has started my faith. Instead, my Christian growth has been gradual through the years as I have been involved in ministry throughout my life. If I still have to pick a time and event that significantly impacted my relationship with Jesus, it was when I was 13, home alone, and had my first sincere prayer. Nothing spectacular at first sight, but I believe it helped me realise how close my God is.
As stated above, one of the most defining moments for me was when I realised I could have honest conversations with God about everything in my life. This led me to create consistent worship, prayer, and Bible-reading discipline. Many years later, I experienced a difficult period in my life that led me to loneliness. However, during this time, I started diving more into theology and Apologetics, which expanded the horizons of my faith. Mihail Stefanov is one of the people that I met during that challenging period. He served me a lot and encouraged me to persevere and keep learning about Jesus.
I believe that I will gain more knowledge in general. I also expect to get new perspectives on topics I feel comfortable with and way too "safe" with.
My first leadership role was in the teens' ministry worship team. Then, I became the worship leader of the youth (young adults ministry). At that time, I also became the music director of the church worship team. I was an assistant to the leaders of the teens' ministry, as I supported them by preaching at regular meetings. I was also involved in organisation of teen camps. In the spring of 2023, I was part of the youth ministry leadership.
I am committed to growing in knowledge to serve even more people and lead them to Jesus. I also have a deep passion for reaching non-believers, as I have been using Apologetics a lot in my evangelism at work and with friends.
