Dávid Mário Chuchút

Dávid Mário Chuchút is a preacher and works with theology students at a local university in Slovakia.
I grew up in a Christian family, but I lived outside the church until I was 21. In 2017, on the occasion of the 500th anniversary of the Reformation of Martin Luther, I was touched by his story, which led me to think more deeply about the Bible. The questions I had led me to the theology department. While studying theology, I joined the Baptist church, and after graduating, I became a preacher.
My faith was shaped by years of studying theology at university. I was influenced by the theology of the Reformation, Martin Luther, and John Calvin. In addition, I was deeply influenced by Soren Kierkegaard, G.K. Chesterton, and contemporary authors N.T. Wright.
I hope to make new contacts with people with interests similar to mine. I also look forward to receiving new knowledge in my field of social engagement with the Church.
I am a second pastor at a medium-sized local church where I prepare Sunday and weekly services. I also work with students from the theology department at a local university.
I have served among students at college meetings and in the church library.
As a young church worker, I only receive a minimum wage that covers basic living expenses. It would be difficult for me to cover the costs of the Forum. I see myself as a promising church worker who can connect current socio-political issues with church life. My interest is mission in my country. Mission and evangelisation have the potential to bring about changes in society that can improve the quality of life of the individual as well as society as a whole. For this purpose, I am studying political science at university, and for this reason, I want to develop my knowledge and skills at the Forum.
