David Delgado
I am the founder and senior pastor of a local church. In addition, I am the national coordinator of Operation Christmas Child. The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to demonstrate God's love in a tangible way to children in need worldwide and, together with the local church worldwide, to share the Good News of Jesus Christ. I lead the project in Spain, including our entire network of volunteers throughout the country. In the past year, more than 600 churches in our country collaborated on our project. We mobilie 24 teams of around ten people, who mobilize hundreds of volunteers throughout the country. I am also becoming the pastor of a new church plant.
I became a Christian at a Christian summer camp when I was eight. We had the opportunity publicly to accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, and I stepped forward, receiving Jesus in my heart.
I have had many moments in my life that have been important in my journey with God. When I was 14 years old, God called me to the ministry, and since then, my steps have been to do His will. When I was 22, my wife and I went to study at the seminary to prepare ourselves for what God had planned for our lives. Another moment that has made us depend on God like never before was when my wife was diagnosed with cancer. This diagnosis gave us a new perspective on everything we do in each area of our lives.
After attending online, we were able to implement some of the leadership practices that were presented in some of our teams. I think the rich diversity of the Forum brings much perspective and reflection to evaluate whether what we are doing can be done better. I want to attend the in-person experience in Poland, and this could be an opportunity to connect more personally with what God is doing in Europe through the ELF.
I was a youth leader for six years. Later on, I became an assistant pastor.
I want to broaden my perspective and continue learning and growing through what more experienced people can contribute to my life.
