Daniel Fodorean
Daniel Fodorean is a pastor at a local church and an assistant professor and academic dean at the Baptist Theological Institute of Bucharest.
I grew up in a Christian family under the Communist regime. At 12 years old, during a church service, I realised that my life could not be saved without a Savior. I received Jesus as my Savior; I have had joy and peace in my heart since that moment. I returned home and told my parents I was a follower of Jesus.
When I was 16 years old, a few months after being baptised, my pastor asked me to lead the church service. I was scared, but I led the time of prayer. The following week, the pastor asked me to prepare a short message for the Thursday evening service. My home church had 400 members. When I started speaking, my knees trembled, but that evening was confirmation that I should go to seminary to prepare for going into ministry.
I serve in the Church Revitalisation Network along with David Brown. I would be blessed to maintain the connections with those I have met in the past and make new relationships with others. Every time I attend, I learn new things and serve others in my Network. I mentor younger leaders, which helps me grow in my ministry and gives me a time of renewal.
I am Dean of the School of Theology and Associate Professor of Applied Theology at the Baptist Theological Institute of Bucharest, Director of the Leader Formation Institute and Antioch Church Network, and Teaching Pastor of Bethany Baptist Church, Bucharest. Also, I am the Coordinator of the E-learning Developer Program at The Academy of Romanian Scientists and an associate member of The Academy of Romanian Scientists. I am also a Member Representative of the Baptists in the Interconfesional Bible Society in Romania, a producer and moderator of the weekly show ‘Theology in Actuality’, and the President of the Bucharest Baptist Association.
I was the pastor of Golgotha Baptist Church, Constanta, Romania, for almost 20 years. I served as one of the founders and the president of Constanta Baptist Association for eleven years. In addition, I served as the vice president of the Constanta Baptist Association for four years.
Our mission as an organisation is to help the church to be revitalised. I am teaching applied ecclesiology courses at our seminary, and my course includes church revitalisation. So I want to understand more about this topic and how others see this topic.
