What is your ministry?

I serve in ICMDA as a regional representative and administrator for the Southeast Asia region. I also work for a ministry-based NGO called Pro-life Indonesia, an anti-abortion movement, as a secretary. I am also involved in the Christian Medical and Dental Fellowship (CMDF) Indonesia and a local fellowship for the clinical rotation student graduates from my medical school.

When did you trust Christ?

I was born into a Christian family, but my family did not necessarily hold or practice Christian values. It was not until I joined the teen group at church when I was 15 that I was exposed to the Gospel. In all these years, I got involved more in church activities and services. I grew a more profound love for God, learning to see His hands in ups and downs, and rooted in a reformed evangelical view.

What have been the defining moments of your Christian walk?

Moving to a faraway city to start medical school required me to leave my Christian community. In this, my mentor reminded me about the importance of an accountability group, so I went to the medical student fellowship. This was undoubtedly one of the best decisions that I have ever made in my life. One of the situations that was very life-changing for me was during the third year of medical school. I was going through a challenging situation when I heard a sermon from Jeremiah 20. When I thought I was 'busy working for God,' I realised that He was the one who had worked on me, transforming my character and understanding. The Great Commission was not 'an option of service' but the whole framework of Christian life.

What do you hope to gain from participating?

I think three things from ELF will be crucial for my ministry. First, I want to learn how evangelical roots are implemented and made to be the base of mission fields. Second, I'd love to broaden my network, find intersections from various mission fields, and work it out together. Third, as I serve in Asia, I become increasingly aware of the need and urgency to learn from and share experiences with people from other parts of the world, especially the Western world.

What is your leadership role or what were your past leadership roles?

I was the coordinator of the discipleship division in my medical student fellowship for a year and became the vice chief of the board the following year. Besides the Christian fellowship, I was involved in another organisation during my training years, Asian Medical Students Association (AMSA).

Why should someone invest in your ministry?

ICMDA is an association whose vision is to see a Christian witness through doctors and dentists in every community and nation. We actively organise networks and events that facilitate calling, equipping, fellowship, and service. The scope and number of healthcare professionals reached by ICMDA are one of the few reasons this ministry is important and worth investing in.
