Camelia Sighiartau
Camelia Sighartau leads a ministry geared toward young professionals in Romania.
I was raised by Christian parents. I have been in church since I was very young, but I committed my life to Jesus and started my relationship with Him when I was 19. I was baptised later that same year.
At one point, I got involved with bad friendships that led me to leave the church for a while, but I am so thankful that God has protected me, opened my eyes to see Him, and helped me get out of that group. Since then, I have seen how He has shaped me to become more like Christ.
I expect this year's Forum to help me grow as a leader, help me see new perspectives, and get more ideas on reaching and ministering to the people in this ministry. I want to return and take in more of what the Forum has to offer, build more relationships, and connect with other leaders.
I hope to become a better leader for my ministry, but especially to better connect to the people I am leading. I want to be able to have one on one meetings, especially with the girls I minister to. I want to help them through the issues they are going through. So, I hope to gain more skills, or to shape more of the ones I already have. I would like to have better visibility and clarity about what to do next. But mostly, I would like to take a look at myself and see the things that need to be changed because they don’t honor God and what He wants me to do and how He wants me to be.
I lead a ministry to young professionals. This ministry consolidates the relationship between young professionals who are believers within our community and reaches out to young professionals who are not believers, as well as their coworkers and friends. We seek to find out their needs and then try to tend to them. Our city is academic, and more young professionals are deciding to stay here. A ministry reaching out to this group of people is extremely important.
I have been the leader of the young professionals’ ministry since the fall of 2019. Although I have always been involved in church groups, I haven't had other leadership roles.
As said before, our city is academic, and many young professionals live here. These young people no longer fit into student ministry groups and are not necessarily married. It is crucial to have a ministry that can address the issues and needs these young professionals deal with (mostly related to relationships and work). As for me, I wish to be an instrument in God's hands in this ministry and learn more about how to be a good leader. For this, I need all the support I can get.
