Barbora Benešová leads a summer camp, provides discipleship, and creates material for youth leaders across Slovakia.

When did you trust Christ?

When I was 13, attending a church camp, I decided to surrender to and follow Jesus.

What have been the defining moments of your Christian walk?

When I was a teenager and a youth leader, several key people invested in my Christian growth. I witnessed how they walked with Jesus and were faithful in everything they did. My biggest challenge and opportunity to grow was 2020 when I started working as a missionary and leading summer camp. At that time, my obedience and faith in God's provision were challenged.

What do you hope to gain from participating?

I look forward to growing because I will be in a different environment, meeting and hearing from many people with more experience than I have. I want to be encouraged and inspired by the broader vision and things that God is doing across Europe. I am also looking forward to participating in a Network and learning from the other participants in that Network.

What is your ministry?

I lead a summer camp team and the camp itself. I am leading discipleship in our church. I also create material for youth leaders across Slovakia.

What is your leadership role or what were your past leadership roles?

For many years, in my church, I led various teams working with the youth. Since 2020, I have been leading summer camp teams. I also lead a project in our organisation that focuses on creating resources in Slovakian for youth leaders. In 2024, I became "presbyter" or elder for our church's youth ministry.

Why should someone invest in your ministry?

I live and serve in Eastern Europe. My income is only covered by financial support from ministry partners. I am not fully funded. A scholarship for the Forum would allow me to attend the Forum. I believe that investing in my training can make a difference in my ministry and can help me teach those things to others in my local church, city, and Slovakia.
