Balázs Végh
Balázs Végh is the Operations Leader of CRU Hungary.
I was raised in a Christian family, but I was 19 when I decided to follow Jesus. I had been a member of a community in a Reformed congregation for years before that, and, looking back, it is clear how the Spirit worked in my soul to lead me toward Him. On New Year’s Eve, we spent it together with the community. We prayed together when I realised and understood that I am nothing without Him.
Some defining moments for me include the mentorship of my spiritual leader in my original church congregation, a worship time in prayer and my first communion, my confirmation in the congregation, the way I met my wife and our marriage, the birth of our first son, and receiving a call for a specific job.
I have gained many skills thanks to the Forum. These skills, as well as the renewing and refreshing environment of the Forum and the Network, helped me in my support role in operations. It also gave me a wider perspective of the Lord's Kingdom. The European Leadership Forum has had a life-transforming effect on my faith and my life. From a personal side, I would like to learn more. I believe my life can be enriched, and I hope to have more of an impact in my ministry.
I am a full-time missionary with CRU’s Hungary national ministry, leading the operations team. Our ministry has three field branches: one student ministry team (high school and campus), a digital strategy branch, and one called SMS (Specialised Movement Strategies), which includes different areas such as Family Life, high school teacher ministry, and alumni movements.
In the past, I was the General Manager of the Reformed College of Srospatak, a multi-purpose educational institute upheld by the Reformed Church. This institute included an elementary school, a secondary school, and a theological seminary, which housed a library, museum, and archives. I was also the Operations Director of a Christian organisation.
I want to deepen and develop my biblical knowledge, and I see an excellent chance for that during Forum. I believe that this will help me build my leadership skills and that the whole ministry can grow. I want to be a good tool in His hands.
