Balázs Harmathy
Balázs Harmathy is a youth leader and the CEO of a youth ministry organisation in Hungary.
I was born into a Christian family, and my parents are pastors. So, as I grew up, my faith has grown with me. In my teenage years, I had a lousy era, and then in 2016, I had an accident with my bike. Fortunately, I wasn’t hurt, but after that, I understood what it meant that Jesus died for me.
My parents are an excellent example for me. I have attended the REFISZ summer camp every year. There, I met and listened to many Christian people. I learned a lot and started serving at camp. I brought everything that I could back to my home church.
I hope to come home super motivated and with fresh ideas. I also hope to learn how my team could work more efficiently, which I hope will be helpful in my new role as CEO. As a young leader, I have many challenges, such as creating a vision and managing employees and volunteers. I hope attending will help me identify problems, get new ideas, and work toward resolution.
I serve at my home church and REFISZ, a nationwide organisation for youth. At my home church, I lead a youth group and our church band. At REFISZ, I’m the CEO. We organise events and camps for young people ages 19-25. We help churches connect and work together to evangelise our country.
I have been in this position of leadership for some time now.
I have a vision for youth ministry in Hungary, and I think I could do a lot to achieve it through REFISZ. I already serve a lot, but I always have more ideas than I can implement.
