What is your ministry?

I am a chemist and work for the Academy of Sciences of Belarus. My main area of ministry is to other scientists. I preach the Gospel in my lab! I also organise Bible study meetings for students and manage the prayer ministry in my church. Currently, I'm studying the Bible with Chinese students by inductive method in a small group.

When did you trust Christ?

I became a follower of Jesus in 2009. I received a gold medal at the International Chemistry Olympiad and was very thankful to God for His help and blessing. Then, I started to search for a church and invited Jesus into my life. But it was not complete devotion. I was born again two years later.

What have been the defining moments of your Christian walk?

Falling in love in 2012 was very helpful for my spiritual growth. She was a Christian and very involved in IFES's ministry. I started organising a Bible study for students every week and attending different Christian events. Later, a friend who preached on the streets in Minsk was a great example for me. I served several years with him preaching the Gospel.

What do you hope to gain from participating?

I believe the Forum will inspire me to serve Jesus more. I hope the Holy Spirit will restore my courage and boldness to preach the Gospel more. I hope to meet others from Belarus and Ukraine. I hope these contacts will be helpful in the future for organising ministry events for scientists.

What is your leadership role or what were your past leadership roles?

For the past nine years, I have organized Bible study groups and prayer meetings at my place of work. For many years before that, I was involved in IFES and organised Christian events for students.

Why should someone invest in your ministry?

I think the main reason is that there are very few Christian scientists. It isn't easy to discuss specific questions related to ministry with scientists. Many other aspects of the Christian life are absent in teaching, even in our region, because of our historical background.
