Áron Szlávik is a worship leader and elder in training at his church in Hungary.

When did you trust Christ?

I grew up with a Christian mother and had always had faith in God, but between the ages of 18 and 20, my faith became personal, and I committed myself to Christ.

What have been the defining moments of your Christian walk?

Being involved in IFES / InterVarsity and my youth group helped me grow and develop a solid, practical faith.

What do you hope to gain from participating?

I hope I will be more equipped with arguments and strategies to participate in debates or discussions. I hope to gain a better understanding of our current culture and the ideas that shape people's thinking without them being aware of it. I hope I will have more material and sources with reliable information that I can use and recommend to others. I hope to receive help in presenting the Gospel and following Christ as the best way to live our lives in community with others.

What is your ministry?

As part of Agora Christian Church, I lead worship and participate in church leadership and decision-making while also undergoing training to become an elder. I also lead worship at another church, and I am mentoring a university student through IFES / InterVarsity, helping him deal with challenges in his studies, ministry, personal life, and faith.

What is your leadership role or what were your past leadership roles?

I led a student group at my university for one year and served as a board member for IFES / InterVarsity Hungary for three years.

Why should someone invest in your ministry?

People tend to see me as trustworthy and responsible in my roles and tasks. They see me as having multiple talents in dealing with people, building community, and bearing loads. Through my involvement in various Christian communities, I have learned numerous lessons, often through my own mistakes. I am looking for opportunities to be a better servant and coworker of God to impact the lives of others.
