What is your ministry?
I am a preschool teacher for the Roma community in Ano Liosia, Attiki, Greece. Specifically, I am the assistant of the primary teacher, but I also take responsibility. We tell them a Bible story, teach skills, do crafts, and, most importantly, give them the time to play. In such communities, people lose their childhood due to their culture.
When did you trust Christ?
In 2015, I was 18 years old, and as I read a chapter from the Acts, I read that whoever accepts Jesus shall be saved. Then, I decided immediately to give my heart to Him. The same year's summer, I got baptised.
What have been the defining moments of your Christian walk?
In the summer of 2020, we, as a family, decided to leave the church we were attending. The frequency of attendance and appearance were thought to be the main reasons for the love or the punishment of God. We left, and from that moment, I started to see the freedom Jesus gives, of course, with biblical boundaries. I became, and am becoming, biblically open-minded. God used an awful situation to bring good into our lives.
What do you hope to gain from participating?
I want to attend to grow in my ministry and network with others in a similar ministry and season.
What is your leadership role or what were your past leadership roles?
My previous job position was in an NGO called Faros. I was the educational leader of our shelter. Faros had a shelter that could give comfort to minor refugees. Abed, clothes, food, and after the biological needs were met, they had the opportunity to be educated. My role was supervising all the educational activities inside and outside the shelter. Some of the outside activities were public school registrations, extra language and skills classes, and educational visits to museums and places to learn about Greek culture. Inside the shelter, I taught Greek to whoever wanted and did activities of language and culture.
Why should someone invest in your ministry?
I am a teacher who wants to be more and more efficient with my teaching methods. I want to continue learning how to do my work with more wisdom and professionalism.
