Andy Schoger
Andy Schoger is the pastor of a church in Romania.
I was raised in a non-Christian family, but my mother went to church because of problems with my brother's health. Then in the summer of 1998, a missionary came to our church and preached the Gospel. God convicted me of my sin, and I gave my life to Him at the age of 16.
A defining moment for me was when God called me to serve Him with the Gospel. Some other moments were when I was discipled by some great men of God, when I got to attend Emanuel University of Oradea, when I got married, and the moment when I was ordained.
The Forum is a blessing for my soul and is one of the best things that has ever happened in my life. I have been exposed to great speakers, developed relationships with other leaders from Europe, and have been able to buy great books. Most importantly, I have set aside my regular activities for a week to invest in my spiritual development.
I am a full-time pastor. I regularly preach four times a week, lead the youth group, visit church members, evangelise our community members, and officiate baptisms, weddings, and funerals. I am also working on my PhD in Biblical counselling.
I was involved in our church's Gideon International Ministry and a group Bible study. In addition, I was the youth leader for my church and the leader of Campus Crusade for Christ at my university.
I am a leader and work as a full-time pastor. I am in my thirties and still have, Lord willing, a long pastoral career ahead. I like to read and attend conferences, so I have a teachable attitude.
